we used to have saltwater tanks and would collect from the area reefs. ascend real slowly and then tie the catch bag or cage or whatever you use to hold them during your dive at a decompression stop 15-20 feet deep for a decent amount of time otherwise you may need to vent them as you do bottom fish releases. seemed to help

I used to catch them too, just make sure you know the variety to fish, some of those damsels can get mean. I have caught arrow head crabs and brittle stars over in Destin pass too. If you dive offshore you can pick up foot long sea cucumbers J/K. I have tried the slurp guns and the clear plastic nets and I had better luck with the nets. For storage of the fish while diving I kept a couple of peanut butter jars with holes in them teathered to my BC, that way there was noting to harm or smash the fish. When we used to have a salt water tank, my dad went out and caught some damsels and put them in the tank. Killed some fish because it was stressing them out too much...
