Default Car Insurance Question

I am thinking of superchargeing my Corvette. I called my insurance broker and he said the insurance company couldn't care less, unless I wanted to claim additional value to the car. Sounds strange to me as I'll be increasing HP to around 700. I don't want to get in a situation where a claim is not paid due to car modifications. Any words of advice?

What Vette do you have that with a supercharger will have 700 hp? As far as insurance im sure you are good. It shouldnt change anything with the insurance, im sure insurance on a vette isnt cheap already. Which supercharger are you thinking of going with? What year is the car and what motor is in it now?

2003 LS3 motor. Kooks headers, D1SC procharger running 9lb boost. LS-7 clutch, Borla exhaust, supercharger cam. Full dyno tune 508 RWHP. engine is making about 650. Going to add meth/water injection.

I had a 2000 Silverado reg cab with the 5.3 that I added a Whipple screw-type supercharger to. USAA noted that I had the SCer, but it didn't change my rate one bit. Never made a claim while I had it, so I can't say for sure what would happen but they didn't charge me anything additional over the stock setup. HTH.

BTW-Meth injection gave me 29 peak HP - and I was only pushing 390 HP -at the rear wheels per a dyno run. Meth does wonders to your intake temps
