Why would a federal intervention be called for?

Yeah what federal laws were broken here that would warrant the fbi being involved. Since when is the NCAA "laws" their business?

The FBI is involved because if large sums of money are changing hands under the table it is federal money laundering. From everything I have heard this situation is alot bigger than Cam Newton situation. Time will tell. I hope Auburn falls hard I am a Alabama fan not one of the" if my team can't win I want and SEC team to win" kind of guys.

Actually its common sense asshole. These guys asked a question and I answered it. That's what happens when you have a college education. You probably don't know anything about that. And just so you know I am pretty important.

Technically it would be tax evasion...therefore it would be a case for the IRS.

Has anything come of any of the alegations so far? No. Therefore I will not believe anything until I see some evidence.

Also, if Cam Newton did recieve a large sum of money, then why in the world would he be riding a little scooter???

That one still dosen't make sense to me. And Yes I have seen it first hand because I am a student at the FINEST University in Alabama...That would be AUBURN!!!

WDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One reason could be due to Cam's school records being release. Those are fedrally protected. Same things as PHI (Personal Health Information). I know if you accidentally release PHI you have to call and report it to the FBI, do a ton or due dillegence to re-secure, and notify everybody on the list of info that was released. The FBI will come and investigate/audit to see if there was gross negligence or just truely accidental. It is not taken lightly at all. They are very serious about it. Either way their time won't be free so a fine is immenent for the most part. That's guaranteed.

The whole Lowder/McGregor FBI stuff tying back to Cam has been proven false by numerous sources. Those guys are in trouble for totally different things outside of this. Lowder is in hot water due to some banking fraud when he owned colonial bank and McGregor made illegal contributions concering the state gambling stuff.

Just because some guy types up a big long article making up a bunch of accusations about every crooked person at AU and MSU doesn't mean one black letter of it is true. There are crummy people associated with every school and just because their exploited with the 1st little sign of anything bad doesn't mean they were ever involed. To this point nothing, not one single shred of evidence, has been said about any wrong doing by AU. Maybe tomorrow something else will come out but I won't be holding my breath until it does.

The church being re-vamped and upgraded is false also. It was on the Deomlish list and it was brought just up to enough code that it was taken off. It's still uninhabitable/condemned. It was simply taken off the list to be demo'd. No services or gatherings are allowed there.

I would say you need some better sources. This is all old news here.

Lobster, the other guy you were talking about is Milton Mcgregor. He is the gambling kinpin in Alabama. He has been investigated for allegedly paying off some Alabama house members. The FBI heard somewhere Cam chatter through wire taps. In addition to what's been mentioned, money changing hands then crossing state lines violates the interstate commerce act which brings in FBI.

The question I've been asking my auburn friends is how will they feel about their super hero if this turns out to be true. Everyone is in denial.
