Default A/C advice?

Need some guidance...we are heating/cooling right at about 2400 sq ft. We have two heat/cool units. One is a 2.5 heatpump (i think 13 or 15 SEER, about 5 yrs old), the other is needing replaced. It's a95' electric furnace/A/C. I'm looking at a 2.5 to replace that one, and price diff between a 13 and 15 SEER is about $600. Is that extra 600 bones worth it? Long run? Doing some reading, the answer is yes. However, if it just has bells and whistles then maybe I'm fine with the 13? We are moving to Japan for a few years in 2012, so this will be a rental. We'll be back tho when we can and this is where we'll retire. Thanks for the inputs.

Yup, I'd go with the 15 seer of 600 bucks more...Of course the best ones are the 18seer and what, But I think there just way too much.
