Default Burger Review.

Not an expert, but I went to the "Five Guys" place at the corner of Airport and Ninth Ave today.

"Five Guys Burgers and Fries"

Big noisy echoy place, very clean. Clean restroom. Free salted peanut in the shell as you walk in the door for a reason. More on that in a minute.

Menu is Burgers, Fries, and Hotdogs, plenty of trimmings. There's about 10 folk in the kitchen, everything is cooked to order so it can take awhile.

Staff is VERY friendly and respectful (almost cloyingly so).

Trimmings include stuff like grilled onions, mushrooms, again cooked to order.

"Normal" burger is two patties, "Small" is one patty. I was told the "normal is about 7 ounces of beef.

Fries available (small is more than enough for two people) and good but not great. I did not try the "cajun fries"

Your order may take 5 minutes, so the free peanuts are a good idea while you wait.

The burger is BIG, SLOPPY, and tasty. Think Wendy's double but sloppier and not as regulated square, cheese is melted much better and better fixin's.

No Drive Thru. NOT cheap. Regular (double)cheeseburger, fries and a bottomless coke was $10.51 with tax.

These new franchises are getting EXCELLENT reviews nationwide

I'll certainly revisit when I'm in the Airport area for lunch.

In my opinion 5 guys is the best burger chain out there. I lived in Jacksonville for 6 years and since I've moved back I have missed them dearly. I also miss The Shiek, steak in a sack! Damn those things are great! You also forgot to mention that 5 Guys hand pattties their burgers, no preformed frozen crap, the same goes for their french fries, everything is fresh.

Five guys burgers are the best. If you don't want to wait, you can order on the internet, walk in, and bypass the line to get your order.

I used to eat at the original one in DC when I lived up that way ! they are a pretty good burger, a little expensive, but if you leave hungry, it's your own damn fault !

Their regular fries seem bland, but the cajun fries are good.
I haven't liked their burgers... they seem bland and pretty flavorless. All I taste on them is the trimmings and condiments. It's as if the patty isn't even there.

Nothing I've had there is bad, but nothing I've had there was worth the money they charge.
