You gotta be kidding right? Report local businesses? Local business owners that have been in this town for decades. Local people that are dealing with the economy just like the rest of us. Seems like the right thing to do cause they gave you a minimum charge amount...

I agree, the min. charge does not bother me. I buy pretty much everything I can from local business from hunting to fishing stuff. If I have a problem with a reel or a gun I can take it back to the place I bought it from and chances are they will do everything they can to make it right. Try to get Bass Pro, Academy, Cabelas, Cheaper Than Dirt, Buds Guns, etc etc etc, to do that.

I do try to give my business to the independents, fer sure!

IF it's a CC rule or law that they are not supposed to have a minimum amount purchase then they should be reported. (I guess I'll have to disagree with you on this one Skulls.) If it's not then there's nothing wrong with it.

well maybe he should just stop using credit card machines all together(which alot of local small businesses do). But then people would bitch because it would be inconvenient. Or he could just raise his prices to counter the credit card fee, but people would stop shopping at his store cause he prices are too high.lol

screwed if you do, screwed if you dont..

i guess im kinda biased cause i have known Rick since i was a little kid. B&B was the first sporting goods store i ever shopped at. I grew up going in that store and the bait shop that used to be next door to it. Rick even gave me a "first fish award" when i caught my first bluegill. It was a certificate that you can frame and hang on the wall. It stayed on my wall until i moved out of my parents house. He is a good man and doesnt deserve to be reported to the authorities because he doesnt want to pay a fee for small credit card purchases. i can feel his pain. Me and my family are local business owners as well and with the way the economy is, national companies ruin our industry by doing work for pennies on the dollar. its hard to survive nowadays.

I too like to support local stores but buck and bass has never worked for me, I guess since they dont know me I dont get the service that others seem to get, never seemed to get much advice or recomendations, luckily I only go bass fishin a lil bit in the spring mainly I go salt and get great service at outcast, I think they should act like they really need you there which I never seemed to see in my visits, maybe they saw me as an outsider or a Salt Lifer.
