I would buy good quality speakers, I like the jbl marine speakers and just get a cheap head unit. I personally havent seen a head unit on a center console last more than a year or two.

Buy a cheap head unit the atmosphere will kill them all. I had to replace head units on my 44 ft. boat every year or two and they are 10 ft above water line on a covered bridge. My walk around cuddy I have the head in the cabin and they die every summer. Unit on bass boat is 4 yrs old and still thumping........ salt air is a bitch.

The guy that own's that website is a great guy to deal with. I have bought a lot of stuff from him. If you call you can talk directly to him and he will point you in the right direction the first time.

You Have to get it out of the elements. If you have an electronics box put it in there, but I still wouldn't expect it to last more than 2 seasons..West Marine offers a 3 year replacement warranty...Definatly worth the money
