Default Bears vs Greenbay

Were you aware that even though there is a unmatched rivalry during the head to head matches, there is mutual respect among flatlanders and cheeseheads? I am a flatlander, born within spitting distance of Chicago's downtown area. I married a cheesehead, live by the border and have one son who attends St. Norbert College right outside of Greenbay, where the Packers hold their pre-season camp. We have heated but fun rivalries during football season.

Did you know that early on in the history of the NFL that greenbay loaned George Halas money to meet his payroll? Halas never forgot, being the main force behind the building of Lambau Field, when it looked like it wouldn't get passed by local government! George Halas was the person directly responsible for the packers hiring Vince Lombardi! The only person Vince Lomabari ever reffered to as Coach, was George Halas. George Halas had a seat of honor at Lomabardi's Funeral.

That all being said....the Bears are going to kick some Greenbay Butt later today.

Cool stuff, thanks for the history lesson! Both teams have quite a legacy, to say the least. I've been wrong a lot this year, but think GB will win a close game????
Good luck to your Bears!

If you turned it off because it was boring, turn it back on quick. 2 1/2 to go and Bears driving for the tie.

Over, GB intercepted the 3rd string QB on the way to the tie. GB 21-14.

A. Rodgers was blessed with a rocket launcher instead of a throwing arm. Not full on today but he lead the team to a solid win.
Dplantman good info thanks.

This is from a frequent "caller" to a Minneapolis sports talk radio station. His name is Carl Gerbschmidt, die hard Packer fan. Ignore the video, it's about the fight song.

Congrats to the pack. Bears offense wasn't firing on all cylinders. Cutler? Martz? 3rd string QB almost pulled it out. We will be pulling for the Packers to beat the Steelers. It was nice to see the Jets lose. I have to go find my cheesehead hat.
