You could say that the Yankees "BUY" their teams but then again every other team out there COULD do that if they chose to. There a reason most "small" market teams don't have a huge payroll. Its because their teams are terrible and they have lost their fan base. Take Pittsburgh for example. They play in a city where the Penguins and Steelers have recently won championships but the Pirates owners are less concerned with the product on the field than the bottom line.

As for the Red Sox choking that was amazing. After everyone of the so called experts picking them before the season started to be the best team in the AL. Watching Skip Bayless on ESPN today was priceless. He's a diehard Sox fan and was extremely irate that the Yankees didn't play their starters the whole game and use Mo like the Phillies did. He was so jealous...Just Priceless...

Sorry, but a KC team, or a Milwaukee team or Minnesota team will never generate the same revenues of a yankee team. TV networks, etc.

ThenyY yankees have an automatic advantage with their HUGE fan base.

I cannot account for the Mets though. I have NO idea why they suffer badly year after year, except that yankee fans will NEVER be Mets fans.

The yanks have created a monster. If they don't win EVERY year there is something wrong. ( A Rods long term deal?).

I'm one of those guys who love to hate the yanks.
