Anyone currently employed by this company or know anyone that is ????? They are opening a location in Gulf Breeze which would be allot closer to me than where I work now in Crestview.

They have some military contracts. One part of them makes/repairs monitors that are used on some Aircraft.

I would avoid Avalex Technologies if I were you. They have serious management issues, high turnover and offer low pay with very little opportunity for advancement.

Just a friendly suggestion.

I've worked there for 2 years and like knowing that I support the big picture of National Security.

I will not comment on compensation but would like to note that you're only going to be paid for what your position and experience is worth.

They offer several benefits including education perks and are a very stable company who has been around for over a decade.

@Perdido Surf: I would ask where you got your "inside information" and who you are. It's easy to bad mouth a company when you have 1 post and zero information about yourself listed in your public profile.

And yes, the World Ford building will be the new Avalex Technologies home by the end of 2011 and I can't wait!

@CCC: That Crestview drive is far especially if you do it everyday. Not to mention, expensive with gas prices fluctuating and very little relief in sight.

Feel free to check out our website that will provide you with a good idea of what we do: http://www.avalex.com/

-Milspec Rugged Displays

Sorry CWBerube, but as a former employee i have to agree with everything said by Perdido Surf. From what i hear the turnover has been over 50% since i left, not a sign of a good company. I hope you enjoy your position with the company and that they are paying you for the job you are doing, but after being lied to by management, grossly underpaid, and watching an immoral company sell our government products that didn't work with very little hope of them ever working as advertised I left for greener pastures and haven't looked back except to bring some of their underpaid talent with me.

@CWBerube: I spent several years at Avalex. I've seen alot of talented poeple come and go. I moved on to much greener pastures, myself. Salaries at Avalex are not commensurate with a person's knowledge and experience. I'm glad you are happy with your salary at Avalex, but you could make alot more elsewhere. As an IT Technician, it sounds like you may be a bit shielded from what's really going on at Avalex and some things that have happened in the past. It would not sit well with you.

I think it's great that you're still enthusiastic about the company's image. But it's just that; an image. The owner has invested alot of money into an attractive website and a new building, but not into the things that would really make a company like Avalex strong (i.e. the people). When even one of the most important employees in that company's history recently quit, it should raise an eyebrow or two. Gain as much as experience as you can there and work hard, but for you and your family's sake, please keep your options open.

@CCC: I would hate for you to jump ship, only to find yourself in shark infested waters. Just trying to help.

Happy Easter everyone!

As a former employee, I can say with all certainty that you will work on some cool cutting edge stuff. Work long, uncompensated hours. Complete impossible tasks in unreasonable time deadlines and then be unappreciated and even criticized for the way you did the job. Avalex has had over 50 people come and go in the years they have been here. It's your choice to work there. Just don't leave a good job to work in a pressure cooker.
