Well, ol' Harvey Almorn (should be AL-MORON) Updyke Jr. is gonna be a felon now... I guess he just didn't think about all of those cameras being focused on Toomers Corner 24/7...

As predicted -- Al was reportedly not an Alabama Alumni....just a plain old "dirt road alumni" fan. I wonder how he will like wearing orange jumpsuits 24/7 for some time now??

AL-MORON himself

His Facebook page has been taken down, but I was able to pull up a cached version. Under his "likes" is the Santa Rosa Press Gazette... I sincerely hope that this moron is not one of our own on PFF.

Not sure how true but I was told that he is a 1967 Milton High School graduate.

Not a fan of either school but hell, I thought the rye grass thing was funny. It'll go away in a few more weeks and until then just spread more seed around it to make it illegible. Harmless prank and no property damaged. I give props to the kids who came up with it.

Poisoning the trees is something altogether different. That's just a scumbag thing to do.

Not sure, but I think the rye grass was planted in a patch of grass outside the stadium, not on the playing field. Harmless prank at any rate

Here are the court documents on the case:

http://media.al.com/bn/other/affidva...n%20updyke.pdf

It apears that the police didn't have to work too hard to identify AL-MORON... He was so proud of himself that he just had to brag... Not just to the radio show -- but he left a voice mail message on an Auburn University Professor's office telephone, indicating the trees had been poisoned. The message was traced, the police compared the voices & then called the number that left the message... Good ol' AL was who answered. He admitted to calling the radio show and the professor -- but later denied actually poisoning the trees. Yeah, right -- we're all going to believe that!

By the way... he did this a week after last year's iron bowl after the 'bammers blew a 27 point lead. WAY before the rye grass incident.

That is correct -- the two incidents were not related after all. It was pure hatred by a "dirt road alumni" Bammer...

If he can come up with $5K cash -- he can bond out of the Lee County Jail. Not sure what happens if additional state and/or federal charges are filed...

been around for a while actually. i was at an lsu baseball camp back in high school and tulane students had planted "green wave" in rye on the football practice field. thought it was funny then, and it's still funny today. the tree stunt though- not in the least bit funny.

Yep, according to this website for the Milton High School Class of 1967, he resides in Alabama. Doubtful there would be more than one AL-MORON...

Update: Zoom the map below in on Dadeville, AL on this map -- and there he is, plain as day!
