Default Anyone have a Windows XP disk I can borrow?

I have my code but have a corrupt file and PC won't reboot. Need to reinstall and hope to the good Lord I don't lose everything. If something happens to your disk, I'll buy you a new one.

How 'bout just going into the performance and maintenance section of your pc and move your history back to before the bad stuff took place. Just an idea and of course, one mans opinion

He cant get to that point if his computer wont boot

Besides i turn off "system restore" as is it resource hungry

The HP disc is probably one of those that has proprietary files(drivers etc) forthat computer particular computer. It may work but i doubt it. He'll probably need a disc like you would by from the store.

Before you reformat your hard drive you better remove it, put it in another machine and back it up if you don't have a backup already. More than likely you'll have to format the hard drive and it will wipe out everything on it.

If you in fact need to do a format....I don't think you cando that with NTFS (FAT 32 yes) file system( you need someone that has a program that will copy it). Replace your HD and after you load a clean operating system you can install the old HD (as a second), and read it. Besides you need a back up HD. A external. Not a internal.
