Default Anyone got a small trailer for rent?

I may be going to West Virginia next week to get some stuff. I am looking to rent or borrow a small trailer to bring stuff back with. I can rent a u-haul but they are pretty pricey, so would rather rent or borrow one locally. Looking for a small cargo trailer, open is fine. It just needs to be capable of being towed at interstate speeds.. If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

U-Haul $60 for a 5'x8' closed trailer for 3 days from Pensacola and return to Pensacola, so about $20/day...$180 for 4 days pickup from WV and return in Pensacola.

I am helping my youngest son move down here and he is covering all expenses. He does not have that much stuff, but its just a slight bit more then will fit in the back of my tahoe. The smallest open trailer u-haul has available from Martinsburg WV is 252.00 plus the other small associated costs. That trailer is way more then we need. A small 4x8 trailer would be more then enough, and u-haul rents a 4x7 but not available for us. An enclosed trailer is available but I think that will end up costing more in lost fuel mileage. As far as towing an empty trailer up, I dont think my tahoe will even notice a small utility trailer behind it.. just trying to save my kid some money, the fuel for the tahoe is going to be a big enough bill and I do not have the extra cash to toss out there for him to use.

I wonder, if we rent a small u-haul here in pensacola to be turned back in here in pensacola, what would happen if something happened to the trailer, such as tire blow out or wheel bearings, while in another state? Arent those rentals only supposedly for local use?

No you just need to tell them where you are going and if anything happens they send a mechanic out to either fix it or bring you another one. I rent one every year for vacation since about ten of us go and we had a wheel bearing go out about the time we got there year before last. I called the 800 number and they sent someone to our cabin to check it and he returned shortly afterwards with a replacement trailer for our trip back at no extra cost. I always take a spare tire with me anyway so I don't wind up on the side of the interstate waiting an hour for repair. I don't have a small trailer or you would be welcome to it. Not sure where in W VA your going but I go that way every year and there is a long way between exits and towns up that way that is the reason I take a spare with me.

Hope this helps.
