Default Any security camera specialists ?

I've been too lucky for over thirty years... It is time to be proactive before my luck runs out...

What do you want to know. I've installed systems for the military for most of my career! Most of your consumer systems are not going to identify a person's face outside of 15-20 feet unless you get into some serious money!

Most are good enough to see if someone is doing something. But if you want good enough evidence to identify someone, you are going to have to spend some change!

The camera is usually not the limitation. It's usually the DVR that limits the resolution that is stored to save space. Recording high resolution moving images takes up a TON of space on a hard drive. So they compress it and lose some of the resolution when stored and played back. A lot of systems will tout their high resolution cameras as a selling point. That's all well and good. But the DVR that can store that high resolution stuff is some big cash. The kind we install just to be able to read a license plate at military installation gates runs about 10K a piece for just the DVR!

Shoot me a PM with any questions. I am an electrical engineer with a ton of experience in the field
