You never use the motor or you will drag the anchor. Just cut the engine and let that baby drift back. I have chain here for $1 a foot if you ever need more..

Default x2 on the chain thing

I was having problems and asked the same question, on this same forum.

Got 12 ft of chain instead of 5 ft and wow, my anchoring skills improved considerably!

I have a POS anchor on our bay boat that I don't think even a chain can fix. Will be upgrading soon.

Don't call me for Plow or Claw anchors when I find them I post them here and on the other forum and within seconds of posting they are sold. I do have Danforth types $10-$15 and some chain.$1 a foot.
