Default American Sux

My son is Air Force stationed in Monterey, Ca, bought a plane ticket home for fathers day. American Airlines cancelled his connecting flight from Dallas to B'ham yesterday and said he might get to fly out at 8:45 PM today but no guarantees. He bought a $1000 ticket on Airman 1st class wages and now they've got him hung up in Dallas. Sorry Sunzabitches ought to be in hell with their back broke. And, they don't give a damn. Phuk American Airlines.

They did that to my brother and sister in law two Sundays ago. Left them stranded in Dallas for two days because of a “computer” problem. Refused to even take care of their hotel.

I have been pleased with Southwest. But, eventually they will piss me off too. Sorry to hear about your sons delay.

They don't have to perform, they're government subsidized. They'd all be out of business if it weren't for that.

American Airlines is going through a slowdown by its mechanics. It is illegal, a federal judge has signed an order against the union.

The union is led by some old time unionists. They have been in negotiations since 2015. The company wants to give away mechanic jobs and send work overseas.

The Judge cannot do much more than arrest the union leadership and fine the union. He cannot force mechanics to work overtime, not call in sick, etc.

Then American has 24 737 MAX airplanes that are still grounded by the FAA with no date in sight when they will fly again.

Say what you will about unions, airlines, etc. But that is what is happening at American.

Here's an interesting video of a confrontation between the union president and the President of American Airlines.

"Scope" is code for jobs.

Thunderstorms basically shutdown DFW yesterday, it was showing 4 hour delays. The monitors at PNS showed AA and SW had cancelled flights to Dallas area in the afternoon, I saw a guy yelling at his phone “Are you kidding me?” about 5 times, he probably got cancelled. When bad weather rolls into Dallas, it’s like they don’t even try to catch back up. All of the passenger carriers do the same crap. They just wipe out the schedule and start fresh the next day or whenever. They don’t care if your rescheduled flight is 12 hours or 2 days later, extra expenses for hotels, etc. Airline travel just sucks when stuff happens.

Kenny Wallace was supposed to have his family out of the country for a wedding. Got canceled a few times then finally gave up. Lost a ton of money and missed the wedding
