Default Sec

i cant wait for this to be over this will be the last championship team from the SEC for a while no doubt they will win this year but it is way to competative for them to keep this up for ever and no I cant stand the Gators either all of the SEC teams are competitive but the winning streak cant last forever so enjoy this year but dont talk to much trash because you wont be in the big game next season. Dont get me wrong i love to watch a good football theam kick some ass and Bama is a great football team this year just as LSU was in 2008. I am just wondering how many Mich. or Ohio shirts we start to see in 2012 and no truth be known I am a Hokie fan but atleast I am loyal and actually went to school their

I've seen it all...UF and UA fans calling each other rednecks and trailer trash....classic.

It's great to be an Auburn Tiger! And a real one too. Class of 1999! War Eagle!

So to be a REAL fan means you had to attend the college you are a fan of? Ok i don't get it but you are intitiled to your opinion. BAMA may not be in the race every year but there is a GOOD chance one of the SEC teams will be the spoiler.

Its not that you can't be a fan. It's that buying a t-shirt from walmart doesn't give you the right to throw the "we", "us", and "my" team trash talk. You can't buy that right, you have to earn it in my opinion. It's something I can't explain. When you walk across that stage and get that diploma it means a lot more than football. It's 4 years of very hard work. That feeling of ownership is something way bigger than a $12 purchase can ever make someone. I think most/all Alumni from any school would agree. If you have that diploma I have no problem taking and giving some trash talk. But guys like the you tube fellow posted earlier in this thread have about as much clout as a piece of gum stuck to the parking lot at walmart when it comes to bama football. I would be embarrassed to know he was taking center stage on a radio platform in my home state and representing my alma marter. In short I don't need to hear a bunch of trash talk from someone who associates themselves with a school they've never been to. Again I'm not saying you can't be a fan(I'm glad you are), most of us just dont need to hear about it.

I respect your views on what you feel a fan is but I disagree with you on some of them. Without a doubt you are correct about the you tube neck it is embarrassing and would be to any college but every team has them. I also respect your point about your degree. Fans are what make college ball what is is and ALOT of them have never atteneded college does that make them any less of a fan IMO no. Everyone has the right to trash talk degree or not but it is your choice to bye into it (respectfully). I can assure you that I have a little more then $12 into being a fan LoL! ROLL TIDE!

Umm, I DO NOT agree. (University of Alabama - c/o 2001)

I'm proud to have each and every fan we have - no matter where they bought their t-shirt!

WOW, there is some serious ignorance in this thread. I was born and raised in Birmingham for 28 years of my life. I've been a Bama fan my whole life, my dad graduated from there, my brother tried to graduate from there. I personally decided to go to Birmingham-Southern to get my education. I now live in Florida. Does this mean I can no longer be a Bama fan?

What about the NFL...what is the requirement to be a fan of an NFL team? Do I need to have played for them before, lived in the city, took a dump in a public bathroom of the city or what?

I wish I knew all these requirements before I dun went and chose the teams I root for...silly ol' dumbass redneck me.
