Default Aircraft / Boat sealant anyone ? FREE !

I have 3 tubes of aircraft sealant, what I use to put aircraft together this will be a dark grey when mixed, and it is GOOD stuff, can be used for anything you need to have a water tight seal on. Let me know if you want it, north east Pcola.

This must be what we used to call 899 B1/2 or B2? When I worked F-111s, it was used for sealing fuel tanks, installing windshields, sealing panels, yada yada yada. No doubt it's great sealant but damn if it didn't like to jump onto your clothing (fatigues) and skin. We had to use JP8 to remove scrub it off our skin but the uniforms were usually trashed. Oh the memories....lol.

Most common is 870 or 8802 and yes it will be B-2 or B-1/2 which are your set up times. And yes it is messy stuff, if you are not careful, but any more so than bath tub caulk, lol

yep, and the B 1/2 can be had is a quick cure too and only has a useable time of around 15 minutes if it's mixed well. We use it on the leading edge of our deice boots on the Hurricane Hunter planes. It's a great sacrificial coating that has saved us thousands of boot replacements. We throw it away all the time at Keesler because it goes out of date once storm season passes and we're not flying weather as much.

If you mix even B-2 "Hot" (as we call it) it can set up VERY quickly, depends how much of the catalyst you add. As far as going out of date that is just a FAA aviation thing, no you can't use it on aircraft after the expiration, but it is still good for years.

If you're out on the flightline putting this crap on a prop and it's out of date, YOU explain to QA that it lasts for years past the expiration date. Doesn't work too well...........even if we're TDY somewhere flying a storm.
