Default 93 Dodge Question on steering

I have a 93 dodge 250 with a cummins that has about a quarter turn slop in the wheel will a new steering box fix this or is there more crap involved

should fix it I would get someone to rock steering wheel back and forth while looking underneath at the inne and outer tie rods, also look at the idler arm and pitman arm. Should be steering box might want to check those few items . David

there is an adjustor in the top of the steering box but check for play first like the previous post stated

I agree with Scott. Sometimes just needs the slack taken out.

it most likely is NOT the adjustment on the steering box. first take a look at the connection(steering coupler) for any play. the smallest amount there will cause the play to be larger at the steering wheel. and as others have said, steering components. is this truck 4x4? if so, take a look at the track bar going from the frame to the front axle. these can cause some problems too. but adjusting the steering box can create steering problems if that is not the problem.

i have the exact same truck in a 94 model sitting in my back yard that I'm fixing up for my daughter.....guess what fixed the play in my steering once I made sure the rest of the components were good.....
