Default This year's Tarpon size range.

Here are scales from the largest and smallest Tarpon I caught this year. I didn't catch many because they were scarce this year. The bigger scale was from a 180# class fish and the smaller from an 8-10 pounder.

I noticed they weren't in Bayou Chico like usual....but on the other hand, they were a common catch at PB pier.

I didn't get any juvies up here this year. Very odd. My fish ranged from 60-130lbs.

My tarpon ranged from zero to not shit this year. Hope to change that next year.

That 180 class tarpon must have been a something. I watched my buddy, who is 20 years younger than me, lean into a 140 class for 2 hours and twenty minutes. I told him, "Better you than me on the rod."

Fairly new to this area (been here 3 yrs now) but I saw many more this year than I have in previous years?? Most of the ones I saw were over 100lbs, but did see quite a few in the 30-50lb range LATE in the season...first 2 weeks in October. Hoping they come back that strong again next year as there is NOTHING like that fight from a kayak!
