Default Yeah!! My 24' Carolina skiff turned over all by itself!

My family has property on Wolf creek near Foley and I have had my skiff tied up there for a couple weeks. Called my dad Wednesday morning and asked him to check on it. I figured it was fine but just wanted to make sure. He called me back a couple minutes later to say it was upside down and the water was higher than he had ever seen there. What a great way to start the day. Made it over there about 10 from Pensacola and got to work. Luckily I was able to rig a snatch block high in a pine tree and rig some flip lines and get it flipped back over. It is an old beater boat with a 96 model two stroke Yamaha. Got it back on the trailer. I pulled the plugs and drained the carbs. Sprayed WD in the cylinders and pumped new gas in it and let it flush. Spun it over a bit then reinstalled plugs and it fired right up. Went back today and ran it in Wolf bay and the creek and it did fine. From the looks of it I did better than most everyone around there. I saw one deck boat upside down in the marsh that was still strapped to the trailer and had a blue tarp covering it. Looks like my only casualty is the vhf antennae and radio and the stereo. Again I was very lucky. Guess that old smoky premix two stroke is not so bad after all. I will post some pics whenever I get them from my mom.

Sounds like you got off easy compared to some. Great job getting it running. Fish-on. GT
