Default What would make my outboard just die?

Fishing upper perdido and heading back towards heron bayou, running 3/4 throttle and my outboard just dies. Not a spit or sputter just like you turned the ignition switch off. Can't get a re crank at all. Floating back towards heron now. Any ideas how to fix it? I just bought fresh fuel. Mercury 15hp 4 stroke.

I have a friend coming from molino to tow me worst case

Thanks

Sounds like a wire came loose. Check the key switch.

Problem fixed! Somehow the choke got stuck and I wasn't even messing with the choke when it happened? Pulled it shut with some needle nose and I'm rolling again

Haha hey now! This is actually one of the mercs that is 100% Yamaha. Every bit of it except the lower unit, which is Mercury. They had a partnership of some sort during this year. 2007 model
