Default What is this fish??

So was out this weekend 85 miles or so south and set up a sword fish rig and caught this at about 300- 400 feet down. What is it?...

I vote Pomfret - I did not know they would hit in mid depth - barrel fish are most ly caught deep droping

Pomfret. Barrelfish have much smaller scales. Pomfrets are a major bait stealer while swording along with squid and the many other mini-sea monsters that rise in the night. We had two Snake Mackerel jump on the boat while drifting the other night. Talk about ugly and mean....

Snake Mackerel..... WTF.. lol.. Scary things out there. I will not be able to sleep the next time I go over night..
