Default Whales off Flroida Coast

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) ? Wildlife officials are warning boaters to stay away from a group of rare North Atlantic right whales that have been spotted in Volusia County.<SPAN class=aa><DIV class=articleflex-container><DIV class=articleflex><DIV id=adcontainer___gelement_adbanner_0><DIV id=__gelement_2>Law enforcement officials say many people don?t seem to know about a federal law that states boaters and other onlookers must stay at least 500 yards away from the endangered animals.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission wildlife biologist Tom Pitchford says the whales, which travel south from Nova Scotia each winter, need space.</DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV>

They come to the waters off Florida and Georgia to calve.<SPAN class=aa>

Sounds cool. Wish I could get a look. I used to love watching the whales breach when I was stationed in Hawaii.

two different stories one an accident and another that the whale grabbed them off the side of the tank
