I hooked one on a yo zuri crystal minnow once. They are a great fight on 15 lbs test but they are scary to unhook.

We have caught several and have learned that they calm down as soon as you grab them by the pecker. My son had two at one time last year and that was fun.

Beak, pecker, tomato, tomatoe? Yes, it is the same as his beak! Just remember to get top and bottom at the same time to keep it closed. When my son caught 2 at once, we had to team up and each of us had our very own pecker to control. One of the birds had a hook in the elbow of his wing. I was concerned that he might have some serious injury, but after about 10 minutes of getting flogged, I was able to get him loose and he flew away with no apparent problem.
