Default Two years without a cigarette

Yesterday was the second anniversary for quitting smoking cigarettes. They still smell good to me and I still get the urge tio smoke one every now and then but I've managed to hang in and resist. How have the rest of you done that all quit smoking in June two years past?

WOW!!! Good on you!

BEST thing you could have done for YOU and your family.

Patches? Will Power? Pills?

My Dad told the worst part is a family crisis, money, death, etc.
He is 84 years old now. He quit at 55 or so. He cheated once, when his Mom died. Smoked ONE cigarette with his brother, and said "I'm better than this..."

His brother quit too eventually. With patches and pills I think.

Mom quit COLD TURKEY when she got breast cancer the second time at 80 years old. She is a trooper though, she quit her daily couple of "Manhattans" (watered down) also cold turkey, when she was going through chemo a few years later for a recurrence.

Mom is still going, well not strong, but still going. Dad too.

Jim

I saw 2 years on April 24th. Haven't had the slightest urge to go back and the smell is anything but pleasant.

Long time maybe 20 plus years. Still smell good if not inside in a crowd. Good luck. When I quit they were about a dollar a pack. Glad I quit then.

Congrats glad your staying strong. I tried to quit around that same time but back slid a couple times but im proud to say I haven't had any nicotine whatsoever since 1/5/13. like you say I still crave one every now and then mainly when i drink beer but it passes quickly. I got back In the gym February 1st and that's helped me a lot. I made my mind up i will never smoke another cigarette. Keep up the fight

She's the reason I quit and the reason that I'll stay quit.

I've lost so many friends and relatives to the backlash of smoking. It's just not worth it.....QUIT and stay that way. Life's too short as it is.
