USS Independence (Littoral Combat Ship) LCS-2
Fishing out of Ft Morgan Al 3 years ago, I got to watch this bad ass ship everyday while they were doing sea trials. It was faster than my boat. It runs 51mph+
Kinda scared me the first time I saw it coming at me lol

Read somewhere the military will use this one for ferrying because they can go close and into shore fast. They can drive vehicles down the ramp into the water and on shore. I think these are called Littoral Combat Vessels. Cats if built right are very stable.

I believe I read on somewhere that the cat uses water thrusters instead of props. If anyone knows I would like to know. I watched this on or one similar to it on a offshore trip last June. Cool Boats
