I've got two, one on each boat. Love them. I bought one off this forum. Ebay is a good place to look.

Just had one die on me. Sent back to Furuno but they said they do not support them any more. No more screens, which start to fade with age. Been a great unit, but time to move on to more current technology now. Chirp and Sidescan now can be rationalized a bit better.....

Had one on my Mako...Still have one on my Flounder boat...[yes it's overkill]

The 582 Furuno set the standard for a long time...It's the predecessor of

Furuno's 585,587,620 &627.... They have knobs....Knobs are your friend.

In this day and age of menu based machines [Raymarine ] The knobs allow for quick..precise adjustments and tuning.

Sure they will work in "AUTO" but fine tuning a machine is much better once you understand it and take the time to lean it.

They are user friendly! Unlike others....[Raymarine ]

The 587 can even be seen on the Wicked Tuna show.

The 582 is a 600watt machine along with the 620 & 627

The 585 & 587 will put out 600watts or 1000watts

The Furuno 600 is not even in the same league as any of the above. It's a 350watt unit and has no knobs.
