Clueless?

No, I've got your number all right Ard.

You are just a useful idiot that EDF is using to serve their purposes.

You could not care less about what happens to the rest of the Gulf recreational fishermen, just as long as you get your promised $$$ that will come with catch shares and your support of recreational IFQs.

Nothing more than a common thief.

I certainly don't claim to know everything there is to know about this issue, but ... seems to me if the charter boat harvest is "recreational" those fishermen should all have to buy individual recreational licenses.

Charter Vessel or Captain license up to 4 customers = $201.50
Charter Vessel or Captain license up to 10 customers = $401.50

So if 400 non-residents come to FL and fish for Snapper for a couple of days on a charter boat the State garners only 50 cents or $1 each for their licenses ($200 or $400 total). If those same 400 people come to Florida & bring their own boat or surf fish they pay $17 each for a 3 day non-res license or $30 for a 7 day ($6800 or $12000 total)

(But if I want to invite my non-paying friends/relatives down to fish off my boat and cover their licenses it costs $2000 for an annual "recreational vessel license")

Something just don't seem right about all that ... but what do I know?
(except that before I was a resident my buddy & I towed a boat down here, contributed beaucoup $ to the local economy on gas, bait, tackle, & ramp fees ... and bought 7 day non-resident licenses.)

Andy it aint about whats best for the state, its about whats best for a few fat cats. The CFA can pay more kickbacks than the rec guys and thats what gets them their "victories".
Thanks Tom Hilton for telling us the truth.

I find it quite ironic that as soon as the states starting raising hell, the powers that be find NEW data and change things around. I think ole Roy was skaret he would loose that job! Wow he saw the light awful quick...

The more pressure they get, the more they will give. Right now there getting pressure from all sides, even if the sides don't see eye to eye on the issue the pressure on the NMFS is the same. Slowly moving in the right direction.

Tom, your direction and the direction of pretty much every CFAer is not in the best intrest of recreational fishing.

Your direction was to split the allocation 50/50 of all reef species for a select few charter captains and let the recreational angler take the shorter seasons. Your direction was to have ownership of a public resource. Don't come on here acting like you are doing a damn thing except trying to line your own pockets.

I will not fault a man for working to provide the most they can for their family but don't piss on the recreation angler and tell us it is raining. lbhuntely did not change the opinion of anyone on this board and I doubt very seriously that you will either.

The reason things are changing is because the states finally had enough of the NMFS' bull crap. The CFA did dick shit in this other than muddy the waters and try to get some crumbs from some senators when your initial plan to screw the recreational anglers failed.

I love the way you made it sound like the CFA sued and won when they/you had nothing to do with it. It was brought on by the states.

Your quote of "You will find that a few CFH guys fought and got you more federal days to fish." is complete bullshit. Once again you guys did not do anything. Whether the CFA joined the lawsuit or not would not have mattered on the ruling. The CFA did not provide any additional information just paid to get their name on the documents. There has not been one time the CFA fought for recreational fisherman that have access to the water on their own boats. Everything you fought for has been to line your pockets and make more money off of a public resource. Maybe you should go into Politics as you have all the right qualities as all you ever do is try to spin what is happening so that your group looks good when you know what they are all about and it is not for anyone but the select captains that were dumb enough to fall for the EDF's bait.

You should really stop trying to convince people that you are the good guys as it only brings more attention to yout group that is trying to steal a public resource for your own benefit.
