Default Smart Armadillo!

Last week, I tried the boards forming a funnel into my critter trap. I caught an armadillo the 1st night out, and thought I was 'The great Armadillo Hunter!". I had the trap out for a week since that one catch, and haven't caught any more A's. Last night I got these game camera pics, and realize that I have trained the critters!

He smelled something about your trap that he didn't like. It might be seasoned too well from the last one you caught.

Hang a Matrix in the trap.

Seriously, I know they like ripe persimmons because I've watched them eating them, so you might want to try baiting with ripe fruit of some kind.

Or maybe double the heighth of your wing walls.

The smell from the other armadillo should attract them.
Put some pine straw over the entrance to the cage and maybe even in the cage.

How wide are your boards? Try 1×8 or 1x10, taller the better.

go with at least 12in boards and put some dirt, leaves or pine straw on the inside of the trap all the way to the trigger but not to much that it will mess with the locking of the trap when it closes. If you put it a long the side of your house of fence you can use that one side as apart of your funnel system to better your odds

No, because then it'll fill up with redfish and the 'diller won't fit.

Spread some insecticide on your lawn to get rid of the grubs, the Armadillos will go away.
