Default Shrimping Closure..

Some area waters along the Gulf Coast will close to shrimping Monday, April 23.

The areas include all waters in the Mississippi Sound, Mobile Bay, areas of Bon Secour, Wolf Bay, and Little Lagoon.

The closure comes after scientists found smaller than average shrimp and lesions. They say the plan to test the water and will continue to run samples until the waters are re-opened.

There is no set time when the waters will be open for shrimping again.

Default RS in 200+ ft

Hate to relay this, but last fall, I heard from an old friend, that they were catching an abnormal amount of Red Snapper with lesions. The good news was, seems they could move twenty miles and the fish were not showing lesions.

Why would they close Little Lagoon? It was closed during Oilmageddon...right?
Something smells.

Appears to be closed. Knee-jerk reaction?

I guess the areas we usually drag for bait will be covered up with shrimpers now.
