just got back from psj yesterday. We did pretty well due to the weather. Just look for the boats and ask the locals wherever you are staying they will have a good idea where to point you to.

Bring lots of bug spray! Biggest mosquitos on earth reside at Cape San Blas.

Look for the boats around Blacks Island. Anchor where there is no grass but close enough you can snorkle to it. It makes for a nice swimming area around the boat.

Get out early in the morning with a red/white topwater mirrolure at the edges of the grass flats and pickup some specs.

Watch the tides and don't get stranded in shallow water. They can be extreme there.

When you catch them make sure you put them on plenty of ice. It makes them open up and a lot easier to clean. Wear gloves when you catch and clean them.

Don't get rooked into cleaning them alone. The rule should be if you want to eat them you have to help clean them.

If you find them mark the spot with your new gps. It was nice meeting you the other day at the boat launch. You'll have a great time.

You are going at a good time. Scallops have had time to grow and crowds should be starting to slow down.

We will be there August 12-14. Just look for the mass of boats. They tend to be where the scallops are.

For those who have already been, what is the depth for them this year? We've been when they were if 1 foot or less, then the next year, they were 5 foot and deeper.
