I've got several that I need to rehook myself. The hooks are junk on all of them, a couple decent Spaniards or one big BoBo will destroy them or you will with the pliers trying to get them out.

The easy way to re-hook them is to cut the old hook off with side cutters, put the new hooks on with split rings.

A #2 Treble hook on the tail is all you need. I don't use the belly hook.

By the time you buy the split rings, treble hooks, and band aids wouldn't it be easier just to stock up on them and the outcast sales for $1 - $2 a piece?

People that jig and throw poppers will have all of that stuff on hand. Almost everyone changes the split rings and hooks off their Chinese poppers and lures when their order comes in so it just recycling stuff that would be thrown out eventually. If I'm fishing with a Gotcha it's usually for bait so I'm not concerned with loosing a fish due to poor quality tackle. I have a couple Gotcha's that I have actually replaced the hooks at least three times. Most just don't last that long with cutoff etc.

If you think a horse Ballyhoo looks good under an Illander Cruiser, wait until you see it with a 16 inch Spanish Mackerel, it will make you smile.
