Default Prescription Sunglasses

I don't wear contacts so I'm forced to wear sunglasses that cover my glasses (Cocoons). They're good polarized sunglasses, and that's what is important, but they look awful. Imagine your grandfather after his cataract surgery.

I'm on the fence about switching to contacts for a couple reasons. I'd rather find some good polarized prescription sunglasses.

Any suggestions?

I have a pair Costa's that are prescription and love them. I have read where people do not like costa's but I am very satisfied with them. Three years old now.

If you just need readers, these are great. I use them.

I actually didn't realize you could get prescription Costas. I'll look into it.

Thanks!

Smith Optics through Sports RX. I've had two pair made and both pair were under $300 and work perfectly.

I've got these. http://www.drivewearlens.com/home.php?flashchange=8

They work like Transitions (same company makes these) but these are in amber and are polarized. Believe they have a 1 year no questions asked scratch replacement policy.

There not Costa's, but at SEARS eye glass center, you can get a pair of Ray-Bans in Polarized Prescription for around $200.00... I usually get a pair every year to use up my vision insurance...

I have gotten prescription ray bans and Maui Jim's .. The biggest issue I find is getting a style the is curved enough to block peripheral light .. That they will make into the progressive bifocals I now where .. Took me a couple of trys .. But the pair I have now I love! And I have learned to get them insured!
