Yep. The internals are pretty much the same too. A 704 main gear can be used in a 706 and vise versa

Haha, sorry. I just meant that my kids can't run a manual bail yet. 704z is a great reel, especially for a boat where you don't need the extra line capacity.

Default Old 704Z

Funny. I have an old 704Z and the bail is broken. I sent a message to Penn about a month ago and asked them if they could repair it. The said they no longer worked on them and gave me an address of a retail store that may have the parts. I wonder if this changes things. Rudy
