I generally stay away from diawa. I have not had one that lasted more than 2 years even with constant cleaning.

high end daiwa is some of the finest gear out there. people that buy a rod and reel combo for $150 expecting the world of it will be dissapointed no matter who makes it. I have several Daiwa reels, given they are all saltiga's or saltist models. they are very well built.

I will never own another Diawa. I've had a saltist ld50 and an Exceller both kick the bucket in under 6 months.

I have daiwa baitcasters and spinners and they have all been great reels. You will be pleased with your purchase.
