Launched at NAS today with a friend from work, trolled spoons and gotchas on the way out the pass for Spanish and nothing, pulled em up and headed out the pass and set out the king rigs and 45 min in we are bored to death, then line starts ripping, fish on, first sight I thought it was a small king, then a wahoo, then when he got four foot of air I realized CUDA ! Worked him down, tired him out, got him on board and realized we had no pliers, HUGE teeth, now what ??????? Saw he was only hooked with one of the duster rig hooks, and barely at that, took a fillet knife and cut a tiny bit of his lip he was free, we got picts and set him free unharmed. He got air twice, GREAT Fight ! After that had a couple really good runs that we let slack and lost them, nobody's fault but our own. All in all a great day on the water.

Well nice. I checked the buoy this am and went back to bed. Be out there tommorrow no matter what. Well if no 4's.

They sure are fun to catch, especially when they get air!! Nice one.

Hooked a cuda last year on a fly line livie. I swear he jumped 20 feet in the air! We were at anchor and he wrapped up in the rode of course. Neat to see them jump.

We threw a green one in the fish box a couple of years ago. I figured while we were stopped, it would be a good time to dribble all over the gunnel. Barely got started when I hear KABLOOMP! KABLOOMP! and two feet behind me, the cuda was coming out of the box! I covered lil' Smokie and got way more air than the cuda did.

Everybody but me and the cuda thought it was pretty funny.

Yea that is twice I have forgot pliers, going to buy to pair and LEAVE them on the boat, I got WAY too close to those teeth trying to get those hooks out.
