Default A new reason to hate trailering....

I live on a canal but don't yet have a boatlift to accomodate my recent 24' pontoon boat. The grass died where I usually keep it so I moved it to another spot in the yard. I launched yesterday and left the boat tied to the dock. We noticed the water pressure was extremely low last night and this morning. When I went out to my truck this morning I noticed standing water in the yard. Evidently I pulled the trailer over the water meter box and broke the water line. Naturally it broke on my side of the meter. I managed to get the water turned off at the meter but now I've got to wait for the neighborhood to drain before I can get to the break. I tried trenching to the lower lot next door but since I've turned it in to a swamp the water just flows back in to the trench.

Update.. Was able to siphon enough water through the water lines down to the dock faucet to repair the break. Embarassed to say how many times I turned on the sink or something expecting to wash my hands while the water was turned off.

I'd give the water company a call and tell them about your accident they should give you a break on your bill..

Yeah, I gave them a call and they said to send a letter and they may be able to help with the sewage costs.

Don't bet on a break in the bill. Had a similar accident and no help at all. My leak lasted long enough to triple the bill.
