Default New guy need some advice

Hey guys, I've been cruising this forum for a while and I finally made an account. Anyway, I am going on a family vacation next week to the orange beach area and we are staying at a place on wolf bay. I was wondering where is a good place to go and catch a couple fish in this area. I don't fish saltwater very often at all, maybe once a year, and I was wondering if I can just use my freshwater rod and reels. I have a cardinal series abu Garcia spinning rod, and I have a couple abu Garcia 5000c series combos I plan to bring with me. I already have some saltwater tackle (a few different rigs for specks, and some doa shrimp). I've been watching YouTube videos and cruising this forum and learned a little bit about the fishing here. Any tips for fishing around this area would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

There's excellent fishing in Wolf Bay. Just gonna have to do it very early or late. Like the first hour and last hour of daylight. The water temps have gotten high enough now that the fish don't hang around on the flats for as long. Another good option and probably the most productive one is gonna be fishing the lights at night if you have a boat or access to one. There are several good underwater lights scattered around the North end of the bay. If there is good water movement the lights on the south end along the ICW generally hold pretty good numbers of white and speckle trout. Where are you gonna be staying specifically? North or south end of the bay? I may be able to point you to some more specific spots depending on whether or not you have a boat or a yak. All of your freshwater stuff will work fine, just need to make sure you rinse it down GOOD after each and every use.

Your rods/tackle are fine, just make sure that you hose it down several times after use. I would also hose it down one last time before you pack.

Good luck!
