Default This new "Cap" is NOT working very well....

I've watched the live video off and on for days now and there is still tons of oil billowing out of thetop of the BOP.It doesn't look like there's a good seal between the 'cap' and riser pipe stub that was cut. Yeah, some oil is going up the tube like BP is saying, but the majority of the oil leaking out around the seal of the cap...looks like probably more isleaking now than EVER BEFORE!

This is just frustrating. Our Gulf as we know itis ruined for a while. I'm VERY confident Mother Nature will bring her back, but that could take a looooooong time.

My understanding is that they plan on shutting the vents one by one slowly to prevent the ice build up or whatever it is that happens. Hope it works!

Why didn't theyput a piece of hard rubber (or some other material) on the botton of that cap and put some kind or clamps that could be firmly tightened to the top of the BOP. It doesn't have to be rubber since oil and gas breaks down rubber, but some other material between the two connections would help. Also, ANYTHING to help tighten that connect surely should have been a part of the plan.

As it stands now, its almost like an up-side-downcup sitting on top of a gushing water hose...with a tiny straw sucking a tiny amount of water out of the top. Its just not working, and MORE OIL THAN EVER IS LEAKING RIGHT NOW!!!!

They are still saying it will capture most of the oil when the vent's are closed. I guess this is the part where we just have to wait and see. I know they wouldn't lie to us.... Would they?

We can put a man on the moon.

We can send unmanned vehicles to mars to survey the planet for months..

We can send satellites past pluto.

But we can't manage to mate up 2 pipes on the bottom of the ocean???????? Is it just me, or does something smell REAL fishy about this?

Oh, I know! Lets get James Cameron to do it!:doh

What did they do to finally end that mess? I was 1-year-old in 1979.

Soooo....how long does it take to shut a vent??? Or did everyone go home for the weekend??? An oil experts out there know why they aren't shutting any vents for the last 2 days? They have stated a few times that more oil will be recovered when they close the vents. Well...lets close the F'in vents.
