Default Need outboard help.

I recently purchased a 2009 boat with Suzuki 250 HP outboards. One engine quits at idle. I can get it started after pumping bulb and it runs fine at speeds other than idle. All three batteries need replacing as well. I don't know if that would affect it or not. We replaced fuel filters so that is not the issue. Any advice is much appreciated.

Sounds like your low pressure fuel pumps may need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Yeah, check fuel pumps, lines, bulb, any internal filters, and the tank. Bulbs can develop cracks quickly.

Have you charged them and Load tested them.

Sometimes I have to scratch my head. The Batteries are the HEART of the system.

Without GOOD batteries .....It ain't gonna work.

Yes sir we have charged the batteries and all three failed. I will replace batteries and see if this fixes problem. If not we will check pumps etc...
Thanks!

Pumping the priming bulb seemed to help start the engine but disengaging the shifter and opening the throttle up the engine started easier. I'm not an outboard guy but is sure seems like a fuel issue.
