I'm looking for someone who has a large truck capable of towing the boat who wants to go fishing. I have all the gear, so if you wanted to get into Blue Water, here's your chance.

I plan to eventually move the boat to Sherman Cove, so the longest tow will be to the gas staion outside the back gate. The boat will be kept at my house about 2 miles from Texar boat ramp in the meantime. Longest tow would be 3 miles to the gas station.

I'm also looking for people who want to go on overnight trips offshore and are willing to help with fuel costs.

I have already paid the deposit on this boat and will be getting it from Ft Walton as long as Davlor OK's the motors and the sea trial goes OK.

PM me with details if you're interested.
Hello!
I am in a similar pickle. I have a 2452 Bayliner that is on trailer in Cordova Park. I use the ramp near Rooks on Tejar as well but I travel a lot and my tow vehicle is not always available.I was gonna talk to Davlor for a recommendation for someone with a 3/4ton or dually to launch and retieve for a set fee. Am interested in what you find out. Tight lines! wla

Here would be my suggestion.

Find a Reg Cab Ford/Chevy with a 460/454 Gas motor in it 1 ton. Keep the bare minum insurance on it and just use it to tow the boat.

Their cheap, cause everyone wants a diesel and extend/Crew cab

Kenny had a 1 ton Dodge that didn't look bad for like $4K I think it was?

My Bayliner is 8500lbs with fuel and gear etc. I beefed up the rear suspension on 2000 suburban 1500 5.2 for road travel but for short trips stock 4wd drive trucks can do a fine job.

I tend to agree with you. I was looking for a truck similar to what you mentioned but got a great deal on a used Ford with diesel in Atlanta so I took it and I will rebuild the engine when it needs it to keep around for pulling my boat.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I will buy another truck in the spring and sell the Suburban I have now. I tthink I have a good list of people who can help me launch when we go on an overnighter This forum is great.

Took the boat out for Sea trials yesterday and will sing paperwork on Tuesday. The dealers are delivering the boat as I don't want any wheel bearing problems.

Davlor is going through themotors and fixing any problems as soon as he's free. The boat's then going to be stored at Sherman.

Looking forward to meeting a bunch of you when we go offshore.
