Default Navionics iPhone App Inputs

Need some info on the Navionics Boating USA app for the iPhone.

Don't need a GPS chart plotter for a pontoon boat that is used in the ICW and bays between Perdido and Destin.

Boat is used mainly during the day and evenings before dark.

Occasionally, would like to get back after dark.

Mainly interested in bathymetry data and location of channel markers.

Also want to mark some obstructions and mooring buoys around the area.

From what I read, this app should cover my needs.

Your thoughts?

Thanks for any inputs.

Default I am ....

...learning to enjoy mine. I am a slow learner with things like this, but there is a ton of typical chart data plus other pertinent info. It does consume my attention, so I don't think I'll be exploring it while at the helm...Maybe I'll become proficient enough to "pre-chart " a course and observe along the way....To me it does seem like it's use could easily divert attention away from where it is needed...

Do a search for more reviews.

I really enjoyed mine when I had my IPhone. The are accurate and great for backup. I bought mine to get the contour lines instead of paying $100 for the chip on my plotter.

Worth every penny, I think I paid $20 for the app, might have been $10 can't really remember.

Does the app show channel markers in the ICW?

Here is a snapshot of mine. I bought the app for 10 bucks about a year ago and really haven't used it. If you need me to attempt anything on it and snapshot it and send to you let me know, or pm me and I can text snapshots to you.

Yep, it shows the cans and pilings.

The bottom contours are just what I wanted.

The app is $9.99 with a year of free updates.

Going to download it tonight.

Really don't need a GPS or fish finder combo.

Thank you so much for your input.
