I was going to do it by hand, although I have a couple hundred numbers. But I can't figure out how to get the cords for each waypoint. I can select a waypoint list and then "go to" but not sure what the lat and long of the spot is.

Not familiar with your GPS , but there has to be a setting that details the Lat and Long #s of the named "go to " way points. Then depending on how they are configured, min, sec, ect. Anyway, it beats the crap out of old Loran stuff.

I just enter in the numbers, give it a name, and then hit "Go to" when I need to get there.. How it actually works, I don't know, other than it comes from satellites in space. My tiny cheap backup garmin handheld will put you on the spot as good as the fancy dash mount unit does.

I believe the same cable will work. You are welcome to try it if you would like.

Where are you at? I can likely use my cable to get the numbers off the machine and into a text file or spreadsheet if you want to bring it by. Its been years but I just checked, I still have the cable and made myself notes on how to use it. I would explain it but the way I did it involves hyperterminal, com port settings, and other techy garbage.

Back when I used a GP36 as my primary navigation device, I wired mine to an Ethernet port so I could just plug in a cable and download the numbers.

The easiest way to transfer them that I have found is GPSU (google it). I only used the free version but it worked for 100 numbers back in the day when I used it.
