Default Looking for some tips on shark fishing in sound

hi longtime lurker around here but wanted to join to ask some advise on sharking. i live on the santa rosa sound in ft walton and am very interested in fishing for shark...i have spent HOURS reading techniques and whatnot and i feel i have a pretty good grasp of it. My question is rather simple and might come off as a dumb question but i need advise on how to find the right bait to use....i know alot of the guys catch their ladyfish and whatnot out in the surf but i am fishing in the sound and would rather not have to surf fish for my bait.... any advise on catching shark in the sound and what bait would be easy to access and stuff like that would be sooooo appreciated...heck do i need to go to the seafodd market and buy some whole fish and cut it up and use it? sorry for the newbie question i am a longtime fisherman just new to ocean fishing and am tired of catching catfish around my pier---which is a pretty deep pier by the way...ok thanks for your time

What you catch in the area is what you need to use for bait. They are following what they want to eat, Blue fish, lady fish. They are both in the sound. That is first hand experience, you can fish with other stuff but that is what they have been targeting when I have caught them. If that is what they are targeting it will make it easy, otherwise just do your best with normal shark treats and hope for the best.

Use some large chunks of stingray. Wont get picked apart by smaller fish and is readily available in the sound.
