Ok.. I am new to the area and want to catch some fish. I just have seen lots of people fishing there and wanted to give it a shot. Where should I go instead?

It is not a fishing dock, it is a boat dock. Yep some fish there. Now, if you want to have fun, sit there for an hour and watch people take the boats out of the water in the afternoon. Galvez Boat Ramp is the name, and funny boat launching is the game.

You can try to fish there, just keep away from boaters launching, as it may lead to a not so nice encounter.

I go there at night some and have caught a few flounder ,but mostly cat fish . I do know it's a boat launch and when boats come in or out I go sit on the bank & stay out of the way.

try under the theo baars bridge. throw at the fenders for black drum.

grande lagoon state park grass beds for reds and specks.

johnsons beach for pompano, reds, sharks, sheepshead...

if it stays flat tonight walk the surf with a good flashlight, gig and dip net
for flounders and crabs.

Truer words were never spoken! We just came from there and I never saw so many inept people in my life!
