How will the oil spill change our fishing season?
First don't flame me for being selfish, just trying to get a feel for how to plan for the fishing season.
Having scheduled off time for the Snapper Season, how will this oil spill affect our fishing season?
Is it done for the year before it starts?
I've never seen a spill like this and don't know how to plan.
If it means trading fishing for beach cleanup, I'm there with the whole family!

RE: How will the oil spill change our fishing season?
I think it's to early to tell how it may affect the Snapper season and any other fishing for that matter. Too many variables to include when and how fast can they get the leaks closed off, how effective their cleanup efforts are, and what the WINDS of weather do. Too bad this didn't happen over the Winter when we had weeks of North winds pushing offshore. I'm with you though, if the oil does reach our area waters and shorelines I'll be right there with you helping in the cleanup effort!
