Default How to make wind on leader

In the offshore forum, I had a thread about jigging knots and have heard a lot about the wind on leaders here and elsewhere. I did a search for making them to see how intense they are and this website seems to describe it down to my level. Can someone let me (and the group) know if this will work for trolling and jigging the edge on in or if I need to find another way to make them (or buy them)? I know the site says for shark fishing, but I figure if it can catch a shark, it could catch most other fish I will encounter.

Wind On Leader

Thanks!!

They catch monster ajs jigging and tuna popping with windon leaders so I don't see why that wouldn't work for what you want it for.

I usually use 80-130lb mono wind ons jigging for Aj's and 60-80lb fluoro wind ons jigging and popping for tuna.

If you are in the vicinity of the store and need any help on how to make them stop by and we'll make some together.

That's a great vid. So the Dacron is like a Chinese handcuff when it is fed into itself just like the mono part is too? Are the steps from the website I posted where he threads it in and out and then in necessary? I won't be jigging for anything much more than 20-30 lb. reef donkeys max so I may just be doing overkill. I do like to learn as much as I can for future use if I do get the chance to go to the rigs or for some billfish though.

I use the sebile knot, it works great and you can get pretty fast if you practice a little.

Yeah, this looks a little easier to make than that other one. I'll be giving it a try this year. Thanks for posting it!
