mail?

Usually you are sitting across the table handing stuff back and forth.

Trying to find out how and when the money flows, etc.

I know this is probably done regularly on the coast as many buyers as there are several states away so just looking for a little insight.

Tia.

Yes I purchased property in Alabama by fax and email. I'm sure it depends on the closing agency and their regulations

Just check to make sure it's possible. Usually they do everything ahead of the scheduled closing date by mail etc... That way it's there waiting on those that are actually there to process and finish the job.

Not by mail, but we went in and signed all the paperwork ahead of time when we sold our South Carolina house. Got out of there, moved down and the buyers closed a few days after we left and made it official etc...

I have done it twice. Once here in FL and once in AL.

Which party are you(buyer or seller)?

The first time everything was mailed and I had all of my closing paperwork stolen off my front porch. Yeah, delivery service dropped it off without a signature.

The last time I closed by mail, my realtor sent me a Power of Attorney form and she signed for me.

I've closed by mail several times. No big deal. If you're a AAA member they will notarize the paperwork at no charge. So will your bank or credit union.
It's about as hassle free as it gets.
