I KNOW you are kidding. The gulf stream is preciptated (caused) on the rotation of the earth and underwater geography.

I'm pretty sure a LOT of oil won't let it flow.

There WILL be oil intrusion for years to come into essential eco-systems. But failure of the Gulf Stream is not part of thar.

Is'nt this the krux of Al Gore's global warming arguement?
What is really nutty is that they claim the record cold temps around the world are being caused by global warming.
Kinda like, "Sir, your engine blew up because it over-cooled."

Instead of Global Warming the scientists are calling it Global Climate Change. Even NASA is monitoring it. If you look at their website the melting at the poles doesn't look good whether we are doing it or it is natural.

Personally I would rather the poles be melting than growing, last time I checked the inhabitants of earth didn't fare too well during the last Ice Age!
